Are there people you’ve been meaning to check in on? Phone calls you’ve been meaning to make? Cards you’ve been meaning to send? Attempts at connection you know would feel good, but just haven’t happened yet?

It is so easy to postpone these activities, or simply decide they aren’t important. But they are important. And the amount of joy and satisfaction to be gained here is huge.

Let’s take two weeks to give it a try.

The Reach Out in Kindness Challenge begins Memorial Day weekend 2020. Read on for details.

Step 1: Download the challenge guide

This document contains a list of questions to help you prepare for the challenge. Why do you want to participate? What “counts” for you as reaching out? What are you willing to commit to? Reading through it will give you a good sense of whether this is a good fit for you right now, and whether you’d like to participate as part of the group.

Step 2: Join the group

You are welcome to complete this challenge on your own, but the experience becomes a lot richer when you do it with others. Here is what I ask of all group challenge participants:

  • Complete the challenge guide, so you know what you’re committing to

  • Make a financial contribution. This could be $10, $20, $50… whatever amount feels appropriate to you right now, and represents the value you hope to get.

  • Read the short daily emails and watch the daily videos (< 5 minutes)

  • Keep track of your outreach activities

  • Attend three one-hour Zoom calls at 11:00 EDT on Sat 5/23, Sat 5/30, and Sat 6/6

  • Fill out a short feedback form at the end of the challenge

  • Optional: Use the (pre-existing) Gift of Happiness Facebook group to interact with me and others before, during and after the challenge

If you are up for this challenge, I am so glad! Click the button below to make your contribution and get added to the group email list. Or if you have questions, feel free to email me first.
